MC Hammer and Ed McMahon appeared in a Super Bowl ad for Cash4Gold, a service that, as their name suggests, gives you money for jewelry. But when it comes to figuring out how to pay the bills, why would anyone listen to two people who notoriously squandered their fortunes?
As we pointed out in our Eight Celebrity Financial Mistakes feature last month, both Hammer and McMahon made poor decisions that led to bankruptcy and home foreclosure. In certain situations pawnshops can provide a useful service—particularly if you have unnecessary valuables like gold jewelry—and the hapless duo does make for a funny commercial. But anyone who takes financial advice from these two should probably have their head examined.
